While walking around at Artisanal LA this past October, we came across a rustic and cozy display (see photo at end of post) of custom furniture. A few seconds into talking with the owners of the company, we could tell they were … Continue reading

This week’s coffee table guest might sound familiar as I’ve raved about her superfood powders in a previous HelloGiggles item of the day post. A wife, mother, and business owner, this lady is balancing it all. Please give a healthy hello to Los … Continue reading
When I came across the blog, For Strange Women, I knew I had to find out more about the woman behind the strangeness. This strange (and I mean that in the most complimentary way) woman runs a business of 100% natural artisan perfumes including a perfume infused with coffee…what?! Who are you? Where do you live? What’s on your coffee table?! And from Kansas City, MO, here is:
I have been inspired to do more photo shoots recently, including one yesterday with my dear friend Leonor Jurado, shooting on medium format. In the last couple months I have finally begun making limited edition perfumes and gift sets again, including a coffee perfume made with Broadway Cafe coffee brewed into the oil. This week I am finishing up a limited batch of Year of the Snake perfume to be launched for the Chinese New Year. Also I have been traveling to film festivals with the documentary film I worked on with my boyfriend, Kevin McKinney, called Corporate.FM.

My Coffee Table
On my coffee table: a notebook for fabulous idea storage, a beeswax tealight I made in a quartz holder from the gem and mineral show, some lapsang souchong deliciousness mixed with douglas fir tip tea from Juniper Ridge, My laptop, my phone and a mini plant. I found this table (as well as all the rest of my furniture) for $35 on craigslist. It’s small but easy to move out of the way for living room dance parties.
You guys…this girl. I’m actually taking forever just to write this intro because I’m clicking on every photo and side bar page of this adventurous photographer and believe this is one of those times when a photo (her photos) will speak more than words. Say hello to lover of dunkin donuts, dogs, vintage style, travel, bright colors, cupcakes, balloons and more:
After recently going freelance, I’m making big plans to grow my wedding and portrait business in 2013! With weddings booked on both coasts, I’m going to be doing a lot of traveling. I also became a guest contributor for the cooking blog Garlic My Soul. My article, Sweet & Caffeinated, features a different coffee/dessert establishment every month. On top of everything, I’m constantly dreaming up new photo shoot ideas. It’s always such a treat to collaborate with other creative minds on styled wedding and fashion shoots!
I would be betraying my New England roots if I said anything besides a hot cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee. I brew it at home since LA is void of Dunkin Donuts, but it’s just not the same! If we’re talking locally, however, Coffee Commissary on Fairfax has one of the best vanilla lattes I’ve ever tried.

- California sunset hikes with friends
- My dad’s breakfast sandwiches – best ever, I tell you!
My Coffee Table
My boyfriend carefully removed labels from wine bottles so I could decoupage this IKEA coffee table. I’m instantly reminded of memories with loved ones when I look at this collage – bottles shared on pizza nights with friends, special getaways to Paso Robles…my coffee table is a scrapbook all its own!
There’s quite a bit of stuff on this small table! I always drink my morning coffee in a diner mug – I have an ever-growing collection from my travels.
The notebooks are essential for brainstorming, and I try to eat an apple a day. I discovered the joy of stroopwaffles after studying abroad in the Netherlands…these tasty snacks are a must-have in my apartment at all times! Also seen here – a book by one of my favorite authors, Fuji Instax prints, and antique binoculars.
